Energy audit at Lien Dinh Footwear Factory – Dinh Vang

This report records the 2021 project. Figures, practices, factory scale and proposals reflect the survey period; they do not establish the factory’s current status.

According to the 2021 project report, Lien Dinh Footwear Factory of Dinh Vang Co., Ltd. occupied 50,000 m² and employed 3,500 workers. The original article described it as a long-established, large footwear manufacturer in Hai Phong. The company pursued improvements to reduce energy use, product costs and environmental emissions.

Existing measures recorded

Data collection and on-site measurements indicated relatively efficient energy use. Existing measures included:

• Replacing fluorescent lighting throughout the factory with LED lights.
• Reducing idle operation of sewing machines through closer coordination between departments in production management.
• Dividing lighting controls into smaller groups to use lighting more efficiently.
• Setting air-conditioning temperatures no lower than 26°C in the recorded operating arrangements.
• Improving air compressor utilisation by directing available surplus compressed air to other uses.

Further proposed measures

ITVC Global proposed three further energy-saving measures after the audit:

• Establish an energy management system based on ISO 50001:2018.
• Replace 250 W high-pressure lamps with 100 W LED lights designed for industrial premises.
• Install variable-speed drives for air compressors.
