Reverification of two vertical cylindrical tanks with a stated capacity of 1,250 m³.

On 26–27 January 2015, ITVC Global carried out capacity reverification of two vertical cylindrical tanks at Military Petrochemical Joint Stock Company (MIPEC) in Hai Phong. This article records the scope of work, equipment and project photographs.

Assignment information

  • Objects: two vertical cylindrical tanks; the capacity stated in the project record was 1,250 m³.
  • Condition: existing tanks containing product at the time of the work.
  • Scope: tank capacity reverification.
  • Equipment: laser theodolite, laser level, measuring tape, handheld laser device, plate thickness gauge and dip tape with plumb bob.

The project record references ISO 7507-3. The method described by ISO 7507-3:2006 is optical triangulation for calibrating vertical cylindrical tanks. Containing product was a condition of this particular assignment, not part of the standard’s full title.
