2015 Archive: More Than 200 Buildings Selected for Energy Audits

The energy audit programme was introduced at a workshop on EDGE resource-efficient building certification, organised by the Ministry of Construction and IFC in Hanoi in August 2015. The original article described the selection of 225 buildings for auditing.

Planned scope and timetable

• The initial list included more than 400 buildings with floor areas exceeding 2,500 m².
• From this list, 225 buildings were to be selected for energy audits.
• The planned implementation period was August to December 2015.

Energy audits and green building development

The audits formed part of efforts to promote resource-efficient buildings. Supporting activities described in the article included training local energy management officials and developing teaching materials for architecture and construction universities.

For companies, an audit provides a basis for understanding consumption, identifying areas requiring further investigation and preparing a suitable improvement plan. The number of buildings in the 2015 programme should not be treated as a list applicable to the current year.
